Touring Kansas City

We spent the weekend with John's parents who were visiting from Minnesota. We toured the popular Kansas City sites including Hallmark/Crown Center, Liberty Memorial (the official WWI US Memorial), and the Loose Rose Garden. These pictures were all taken at the Rose Garden. Sophie was smelling the roses until we noticed many bees in the bushes with her. The kids enjoyed posing with the statue, Sophie joined right in. The group shot has Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen in the center. The garden must be spectacular in mid-summer. We also attended a class picnic on Saturday in the rain that felt like Minnesota. Half the class showed up, they must be insane. Wait a minute, we were one of them that showed up, we never like to miss a party.

Our hearts continue to be enlightened and enriched as we go the Intro to Ihop program. It's good meat and potatoes teaching, if you know what I mean. As a Mother it's my desire to my children's lives filled with truth and changed because of it. I can see the fruits of this in the short time we've been here. I can see the Holy Spirit working in each of our lives filling us with life-giving truth. Anyone can see the Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday services on-line for free. I would encourage this is you are curious about the teaching we are receiving. Go to www.ihop.org, click on media, click on Free Webcasts, click on your choice of the Encountering God Services or Forerunner Church Service. These are live so take note of the times you wish to watch. Mike Bickle is teaching on Song of Solomon on Friday nights and "Sign of the Times" Saturday nights. Soon he'll start a series on Heaven.

Brain Overload

We are in the middle of a 3 week class on the End Times. My brain can hardly handle the information. It's a fascinating topic that we Christians don't really talk about very much. If anyone has questions on this type of thing there are many different forums on the IHOP.org website. You can post a question and have it answered for you or just check out what others have to say. Go to www.ihop.org and click on across ihop, click on onething, click on resources, click on forums. From there you can click on any topic you're interested in.
This weekend we are looking forward to a visit from John's parents. We plan to do some touring of Kansas City. We'll have pictures to share later.
All is well in the Nielsen household. The kids are enjoying their studies and John tried out for singing and keyboard positions for IHOP worship teams. He's now in the pool of other singers and keyboard players to be selected from. I'm sure he'll be on a team soon.

Chores

In a big household there are always a lot of chores. One thing we like about Zach is his willingness to pitch in and help. He likes to be creative in the doing. Here he's relaxing after sweeping the floor.

Minnesota

We had a great trip to Minnesota. It was long driving, too short to see everybody, but completely enjoyable. We did see lots of family. My Dad's birthday party was a great experience, it's always good to see family. The picture is my Dad, my oldest brother, and my youngest brother. Now I know what my natural hair color should look like. Way to go on a fabulous party Barb! I'm sure Dad will get that Bobcat sometime soon.
Willmar was a quick trip. Visiting old friends and church were good for the soul. It felt like we had never left. We would love for people to come to KC to taste a little of what we're feasting on. You'd love it.
