A couple of weeks ago Rachel said she saw a mouse in the kitchen. I said, "No way, if we had a mouse there would be evidence". (Meaning food with teeth marks in it and droppings in cupboards. ) So just to humor us John put out a mousetrap with peanut butter on it. The next morning it was licked clean and didn't snap, smart mouse. I'm totally grossed out about this. Last night I was a dance with 3 of the girls and Sarah called my cell phone to tell me she was looking in the refrigerator and TWO mice, not 1, but TWO ran from under our garbage can to the laundry room right by her. YUCK!!!!! Apparently they have not made their way to the pantry or they can't get in it. Because everything looks clean and unchewed. Now John has 2 sticky traps set up in the kitchen and laundry room. (Shelley, these will be gone by the time you get here on Sunday.) (I hope) Maybe we will be posting pictures of the great capture! I told the kids I will give $10 to who ever catches these varmints. More later!

Time Flies When Your Having Fun
Seems like everyday brings something new for us at IHOP. After we finished Intro we jumped right into homeschooling. Dad is the main teacher for the oldest 5, I do the youngest 2. We did take a week off of school after Christmas for the Onething Conference. John and Zach helped load in a lighting rig for the Onething Conference held in downtown Kansas City. Because of the live HDTV Broadcast there was a complete day and half of setting up before the conference started. During the conference John was in the control room doing various tasks during the duration of the conference. One night he sat on the telephone the entire time with Jerusalum (GOD-TV's transmitting location) making sure the signal and sound were clear. It was a very impressive operation. After the conference ended at midnight New Year's Eve they guys stayed 'til 4am packing it up.
I helped out in the Children's Equipping Center one afternoon and manning their information booth. One afternoon I was on a roaming HealingRooms Team. We were in groups of 3 lead by the Holy Spirit to pray for people who needed healing- physical, emotional, psychological. It was a wonderful experience, our team was able to pray for 7 people, all with different needs. He truly lead us to the right people.
We were offered a position in the media department at IHOP. We haven't worked out the details yet. We will share the position overseeing the live broadcast from the prayerroom starting in April with GOD-TV. Both of us will also be directing and learning other technical skills. Another part of it will be making the webstream more informational with interviews that answer questions about the prayerroom and what happens there. We will photograph and edit these interviews. Not sure of the timing on all this but we are working on a schedule that balances our large family with all this. If we can get some equipment we would love to do the editing at home. This would be ideal because there really is no office space available at IHOP in the media department. I'm sure we'll have more details on this in a couple of weeks.
God continues to provide for us. We were able to replace the built in microwave that we blew up when we moved into our rental house in August. We had our eye on a certain model and during the ice storm this weekend we went shopping at one of the only KMARTs in KC. There was the model we've been looking at on clearance and another 30% off that. It was waiting just for us. Someone in our house has learned the lesson of putting insulated car cups in the microwave. :)
Some lessons are more expensive than others.
