Welcome to the Family, Charlotte

After months of considering getting a dog, we finally took the plunge. It helped that Wayside Waifs was having a adoptathon and the pets were half price. She's a Beagle/Terrier and 10 months old. So she won't get much bigger. That's a good thing because Sophie tries to ride large dogs. So far she's been adjusting beautifully. We are crate training her but otherwise when she's totally house broken she will have lots of freedom. We're not sure of her habits yet, she doesn't seem to have to go potty very often. She's very fearful of the leash too. If she doesn't want to go where she's being lead she just lies down. The only time she's barked is when the horses are by the back fence. She mainly loves napping on the livingroom floor. Her name...well, everybody in our house has an 'H' in their name so the kids gave her a name with an "H". John wants to call her Charlie. Huh?Do dogs know what pointing is?

In Honor of Earth Day

God's creation in our yard.
We have 2 of these Redbud trees in our frontyard. They have such a brilliant color and unusual buds that grow all over the tree.

Grandpa's Hosta's from MN are coming in and looking really nice.
We're trying a new type of gardening this year called "Square Foot Gardening".
We can see our neighbor's pond until these trees get their leaves. The best part of the day.....it's pushing 80 degrees.
