The girls made it to New Orleans. We've talked with them everyday since they left. Thank you for cellphones. It's been a very good experience for them. This email was sent to us from the leader of the group. Sorry the pictures aren't attached.
From: Crisis Response International
Well after a 20 hour bus ride we finally got here but God started moving way before we arrived.Just as we were driving out of Missouri, it started to snow and the roads iced up. So Zac Dinsmore grabbed his guitar and as soon as we just starting singing, the presence of God came in so strong but sweet. We were singing 'Shine your light, let the whole world see' and 'Shine Lord Shine, the light of your face' The snow started to stop and the road conditions improved...right then Sean yelled that we just passed into Arkansas and the billboard said, 'Welcome to Arkansas, Shine!' Some claimed that while in worship they felt a presence of the Lord that they never really felt before. Our first taste of the Lord's harvest was when we stopped at a gas station. We had just practiced getting words of knowledge on the bus and as we were pumping the gas the Lord had indicated He wanted to speak to this girl getting gas as well. God wanted her to know that he saw her crisis. She then for the first time heard that she could have a personal relationship with the Creator of the universe because Jesus made the way for her on the cross. She gladly invited him in.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to give away shoes to everyone in the neighborhood to many people that were needy. There were absolutely amazing testimonies of deliverance, healing, and just people opening up to receive prayer.
Break out session!!
Our whole team would testify that there is no way that we can express what happened in our midst this morning. So here are some pictures to show you what it was like and what was happening. Sean told our leaders this morning that we were going to do a fire tunnel. As the leaders went up, Christina Caulder started feeling the Holy Spirit's fire upon her. Then all the other leaders started feeling it. We started going through the fire tunnel as the leaders laid hands on us and imparted the power of the Holy Spirit. Some of us had been drunk in the Holy Spirit before and some hadn't but every single one of us got wrecked! At times all you could do was scream or just cry. A little later the spirit indicated that some on the team were struggling with lies from the enemy. It didn't matter if they were inhibitions or fears and each one as they were set free began to jump on their lies with shouts of joy. A few curious folks came in and received ministry but after the meeting went over 3 and half hours it spilled into the street. We ended up cooking hundreds of pounds of chicken out on the sidewalk and the music and ministry now 5 hours later still hasn't stopped.
One testimony came from a man who showed up at the building where we were giving out the shoes drunk. He came in and a couple people started to pray for him. Immediately he sobered up and the presence of the Lord fell upon him like fire. He left with his spirit revived. A couple hours later he came back because he had a burden for his sister and that she might get healed. She had just gotten surgery and was bedridden. Several people gathered around him to pray for him and his sister. During that time Mr. Bryson felt the spirit of the Lord telling him the story of the Centurion spoken of in Luke 7. Mr Bryson was able to pray that chapter over Ernest and his sister so that, just as the Centurion had faith for his servant to be healed even without Jesus' physical presence, she might be healed by faith. Later Ernest started sharing his heart about his life story to a couple of our guys. He spoke of his alcohol addiction and how the Lord had set him free earlier that same day. He also spoke of how his wife and mother had died and how he nearly committed suicide. He told us that the only reason he did not give up on life was because he had felt that the Lord had a purpose for him. His speaking was anointed and well articulated, even though he had been familiar with the Spirit of the Lord for only a few hours. Our whole team felt as if this one man's testimony was worth the entire journey.
