New Season

It's the beginning of a new season in the Nielsen household. With every season brings a huge shift in the daily schedule. I'll save you the boring details of showing you our hairy schedule. Needless to say I've had to make some major shifts so the day's activities can run smoothly. I'm quitting my pt job at Dream Dinners. When the school emails and asks why your kids aren't doing their homework, it's time to make a change. I'm also considering relinquishing being on IHOP staff. My schedule revolves around everybody else in my house and I'm having so much trouble keeping prayer room hours and feeling guilty about it. I'd rather go when I can and not have the pressure of having to be in there looming over me. It's a delicate balance being a mother and wanting to serve. I'd love to be in the prayer room for many hours a day, but it's just not my season.

John has a few new things happening. He is teaching piano pt at the Forerunner music Academy. He's also training to be an Instructor for Simply Music. It's a way of teaching piano in a completely different way. Students learn to play music before they learn the notes. It's becoming very popular. The plan is to rent studio space and be able to teach group lessons. He also is in the midst of a new project at IHOP that has to do with his 19 years experience in radio. Yeah!

Zach is a 2nd year student at FMA. He plays on Marcus Meier's team in the prayer room several times a week. Check out the schedule and watch him live on the webstream. They will be leading worship this Sunday at FCF.

Rachel is starting her senior year at The Daniel Academy. She will graduate this year and then go to a community college next year. She is interested in fashion design. She's also got a gift in the area of writing. She has a job working for our neighbor who runs a travel company from her home. She enjoys it.

All the kids are attending The Daniel Academy this year. Parents are required to volunteer or help in some way. I am teaching 2 classes in the High School; Personal Finance and Yearbook.

All the girls, except for Sophie, are dancing again. They have all moved up into more challenging levels this year. That means they are required to take more classes and dance more hours a week. They are serious about it. Sophie decided it was enough to go to school. She's in 1st grade.

That's it for now. Pray for us as we navigate through this new season.
