Here We Go Around the World Again

Once again we are traveling around the world in our homeschool study, Children Around The World. This week we found ourselves in Alaska eating Bannock, a fried bread. The meal wasn't much, so we had clam chowder. Hey Alaskans eat clam chowder, don't they? The best part was playing the Inuit games.....Leg Wrestling, Knee Walking, Owl Hop, and Toe Jump.

Dad explaining the games.

Sophie and Chloe doing the Seal Crawl.

Hannah getting ready to do the knee jump. I posted a couple of videos on Facebook so you can see the graceful beauty of these games. Just click on the picture to play.

Can You Say...IKEA

One of our favorite stops in the Cities is IKEA. It's just fun.
He's always been a little fruity.

A cup of tea, please.

It's like kids at a playground.

Serving the Poor

Hannah and Sarah are part of a group called Servants on the Mount. It's for 5th and 6th graders and Sarah is a teen helper. A few weeks ago they visited a Nursing Home where they lead worship and prayed for people. This week they went to the inner city and helped a group called Hope City feed the poor. They lead worship, helped cook the food and served it. John went along as the driver and chaperon.

Sarah and Hannah at Onething

Our good friend Shelley took these and many more amazing photos at Onething. Sarah sang a couple of times on the worship team in the Children's Equipping Center. She really enjoys being able to serve in the way of worship.

One of the things I love about IHOP and the CEC is the way the kids minister to one another. To them it's natural. Hannah never hesitates to pray.
