A Trip to the Middle Ages

We have been deep into home school studies since December. John is doing 2 weeks in 1. We are using WinterPromise, a history literature based curriculum. I don't know who enjoys it more, John or the kids. Part of the curriculum is doing extra projects about the Middle Ages. Rachel choose to replicate a castle kitchen, food and all. Check out the pig on the spicket. She didn't miss a detail. There's bread in the oven, a goose on the table, and a big fish on the floor. (Good thing they didn't have health department inspections then) It's quite impressive. She used junk and real food from the spice cupboard. Zach made a castle out of Legos. Inside are the horse stalls and all the MAN THINGS. Nice job! When I suggested we have a middle ages meal they all asked if we could go to MacDonalds afterwards.
